NCT ID NCT04141761

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether a daily probiotic supplement can reduce inflammation and help preserve insulin-making cells in children and teens recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. About 43 participants aged 5-17 will receive either the probiotic or a placebo for several months. The goal is to see if changing gut bacteria can slow the disease and improve long-term health.
