First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested a special probiotic pill (CBT102-A) in 15 children with phenylketonuria (PKU), a genetic condition that makes it hard to break down an amino acid called phenylalanine. The goal was to see if the probiotic could safely lower phenylalanine levels in the blood. Children took the pill or a placebo for 20 days, and researchers measured changes in their blood levels and any side effects.
