Probiotic shows promise in MS immune control trial

NCT ID NCT07168772

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking a probiotic twice a day for six months can help people with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS). The goal is to see if the probiotic increases certain immune cells (Treg cells) that may help control the disease. 80 adults with MS will be randomly assigned to receive either the probiotic or a placebo. This is an early-stage trial focused on immune system changes, not a cure.
