Summary

This study is testing whether a daily probiotic supplement (Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG) taken for six months can help people with alcohol use disorder drink less and improve their liver health. Researchers will compare the probiotic to a placebo pill in 60 participants who are heavy drinkers with early signs of liver injury. The goal is to see if improving gut health can reduce alcohol cravings, drinking days, and liver inflammation.
