First seen Dec 11, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested if a cream with live good bacteria (Lactobacillus crispatus) could improve skin barrier damage in people with obesity. 98 adults aged 18-40 with a BMI of 25 or higher applied the cream or a placebo to their forearms daily for 4 weeks. The main goal was to see if the cream reduced water loss through the skin, which indicates better skin health.
