Cheaper dental visits: a simple fix for better oral health?
NCT ID NCT07465952
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether offering price discounts on preventive dental check-ups increases how many people schedule and attend them. Over 172,000 adults in Chile will receive WhatsApp messages with different discount offers. The goal is to see if lower costs and coupons encourage more preventive care and follow-up treatments.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- price discounts on dental check-ups
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that lowering prices helps more people get preventive dental care, potentially improving oral health on a large scale.
- What could go wrong
- This is a behavioral study, not a medical treatment. Results may not apply to other settings or populations, and discounts may not lead to lasting habits.
