New coating may stop tooth crumbling in kids with 'chalky teeth' condition
NCT ID NCT07443878
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested two treatments to prevent enamel breakdown in children aged 6-13 with a condition called molar-incisor hypomineralization (MIH), which causes weak, chalky spots on teeth. 17 children received either a resin coating or a fluoride varnish on their affected molars. Researchers checked for new enamel damage over 6 months to see which treatment worked better.
