Race to stop deadly bleeding after birth: which drug works best?

Summary

This study aims to find the better drug to prevent dangerous bleeding after vaginal delivery in women at higher risk. Researchers will compare two medications, carbetocin (given by IV) and misoprostol (given rectally), in 146 women. The main goal is to see which one more effectively reduces the rate of severe postpartum hemorrhage.
