Summary

This study tested new ways to prevent opioid misuse and addiction in teens and young adults (ages 16-30) who came to the emergency department. Participants who used opioids and had other risk factors received support starting in the ER and continuing through telehealth after they went home. The goal was to find the best and most cost-effective strategies to keep young people from developing opioid use disorder.
