New drug aims to stop Antibiotic-Related hearing loss

Summary
This study tests if the drug ORC-13661 can prevent hearing loss in people receiving IV amikacin for a lung infection called NTM. About 105 adults will take either a low dose, high dose, or placebo pill for up to 90 days. Researchers will compare hearing changes among the groups to see if the drug helps protect ears.
