New hope for cancer patients: two simple procedures battle debilitating dry mouth

Summary
This study aims to prevent severe dry mouth, a common and debilitating side effect of radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. Researchers will compare a minimally invasive duct-clearing procedure (sialendoscopy) with a non-invasive light therapy (photobiomodulation) against basic oral care. The goal is to see which method best preserves saliva flow and quality of life for 42 patients undergoing radiation treatment.
