New hope for cancer patients: two simple procedures battle debilitating dry mouth

NCT ID NCT07476209

Summary

This study aims to prevent severe dry mouth, a common and debilitating side effect of radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. Researchers will compare two preventive approaches—a minimally invasive duct-clearing procedure and a non-invasive light therapy—against basic oral care in 42 patients. The goal is to see which method best preserves saliva flow and improves patients' quality of life during and after treatment.
