New hope for cancer patients: can a scope or laser stop radiation dry mouth?
NCT ID NCT07476209
First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests two ways to prevent dry mouth caused by radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. One method uses a tiny scope to clear saliva ducts, and the other uses low-level laser light to boost saliva gland function. About 42 patients will be randomly assigned to one of these treatments or standard mouth care. The goal is to see which approach best protects quality of life during and after radiation.
