NCT ID NCT07527572

First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests whether a daily probiotic pill containing Lactobacillus gasseri can prevent bacterial vaginosis (BV) from returning after standard antibiotic treatment. BV is a common vaginal infection that often comes back, causing discomfort and health risks. The trial will involve 160 women with a history of recurrent BV, who will take either the probiotic or a placebo for six months to see if the probiotic helps maintain a healthy vaginal balance.
