New gel may stop hidden bacteria in bedsores

Summary
This study tests whether a special gel can prevent biofilm—a tough layer of bacteria—from forming in pressure ulcers (bedsores). About 140 bedridden adults over 65 with stage 2 or 3 ulcers will receive the gel alone or with a silver dressing. The goal is to see if the gel helps the wounds heal better within four weeks.
