Leukemia prevention trial offers hope for virus carriers

Summary
This study tests if the drug mogamulizumab can prevent adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) in people infected with HTLV-1 who are at higher risk due to changes in their T-cells. About 134 participants will receive a limited course of the drug to reduce the virus level in their blood. The goal is to find the lowest effective dose that keeps the virus suppressed for at least 6 months.
