First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looked at 150 adults aged 18 to 60 who had severe abdominal pain along with other nerve-related symptoms, but no clear cause. Researchers tested their urine to see if they had acute hepatic porphyria (AHP), a rare metabolic condition. The goal was to find out how many of these patients actually have AHP, which could help doctors diagnose it sooner.
