First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study aimed to find out how many people with severe abdominal pain and other symptoms actually have acute hepatic porphyria (AHP), a rare liver disorder. Researchers tested urine samples from 150 adults aged 18 to 60 who had suggestive symptoms but no clear diagnosis. The goal was to better understand how often AHP is missed in these patients.
