New imaging tech could help preterm babies breathe easier

Summary
This study looks at how different levels of gentle breathing support (called PEEP/CPAP) affect the lungs of babies born before 32 weeks. The goal is to find the best pressure to keep their tiny lungs open and reduce the need for a breathing machine. Researchers will use a new, radiation-free imaging tool called Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) to see real-time lung changes. About 30 babies on breathing support will take part in this early-stage feasibility study.
