Researchers track 400 patients to unlock secrets of beating prescription drug addiction
NCT ID NCT03713983
Summary
This study follows 400 adults who are already receiving standard treatment for addiction to prescription opioids (like painkillers) or benzodiazepines (like anxiety medications). The goal is to observe and measure what happens to them over two years—specifically, how many reduce or stop using these drugs and what factors (like types of therapy or other health conditions) are linked to better outcomes. No new treatments are being tested; this research is gathering information to help design better future treatment programs.
