Pre-Surgery shake may boost recovery in frail hip fracture patients

Summary
This observational study will follow 228 elderly patients (65+) with a broken femur who are also frail. Some will receive a special oral nutritional supplement before surgery, while others get standard care. Researchers want to see if the supplement helps keep blood pressure stable during surgery, reduces complications, and shortens hospital stays. Participants will be monitored for 90 days after surgery.
