Summary
This study tests if taking Lugol's solution (an iodine mixture) before thyroid removal surgery can reduce common complications like low calcium levels (from damaged parathyroid glands) and vocal cord nerve injury. About 182 adults with overactive thyroid from Graves' disease or toxic nodular goiter will participate. The goal is to make surgery safer and speed up recovery.
