New ultrasound method aims to catch bile duct cancer spread earlier

NCT ID NCT07161869

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at whether an improved endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) procedure can better find cancer in lymph nodes before surgery for bile duct cancer. About 250 adults with certain types of bile duct cancer that are thought to be removable will get this special ultrasound. The main goal is to see how many people are spared unnecessary surgery because the test finds cancer has already spread to lymph nodes.
