Warm fillings may mean stronger teeth: new study tests preheated composite resins
NCT ID NCT07496047
First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at whether preheating a special fiber-reinforced tooth filling material before placing it in back teeth helps it perform better. Over 12 months, 70 adults with cavities in both sides of their mouth received one preheated and one non-preheated filling. Researchers checked how well the fillings stayed in place, their edges, and if they caused tooth sensitivity.
