First seen Mar 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 20, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests whether a home exercise program started at least three weeks before breast cancer surgery can improve shoulder function, reduce pain, and lower the risk of lymphedema. Fifty-four women with early-stage breast cancer will be randomly assigned to either the exercise program or usual care. Researchers will track shoulder movement, arm strength, and quality of life for up to two years after surgery.
