Summary

This study tested a program called the Pregnant Moms' Empowerment Program (PMEP) for pregnant women who had experienced intimate partner violence in the past year. The goal was to see if the program could improve mothers' mental health, reduce the chance of further violence, and help their babies develop well. About 230 women took part, either in the PMEP or a general support group, and were followed for over a year after giving birth.
