What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this research could lead to a new treatment for preeclampsia that filters a harmful protein from the blood.
What could go wrong
This is a very early, observational study that only collected samples. It does not test the treatment in patients, so it may not lead to an effective therapy.
