Ultrasound-Guided diuretics may cut Post-Birth blood pressure risks
NCT ID NCT07167862
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether a quick, non-invasive bedside ultrasound can help doctors decide if new mothers with preeclampsia need a diuretic (water pill) to lower their blood pressure. About 96 postpartum women with preeclampsia will receive ultrasound-guided treatment within 24 hours of delivery. The goal is to see if this approach speeds blood pressure recovery, reduces the need for blood pressure pills at discharge, and lowers hospital readmission rates.
