NCT ID NCT06591468
First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding the steroid prednisone to the usual medicine (ursodeoxycholic acid) can improve outcomes for people with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) who also have moderate to severe liver inflammation. About 244 adults with PBC will take either the combination or standard treatment alone. The goal is to see if the combo leads to better liver test results and less fatigue or itching, while monitoring safety.
