First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at whether measuring the thickness of belly and diaphragm muscles before surgery could help predict complications in people with gastrointestinal cancers. Researchers used ultrasound to measure muscles in 129 patients scheduled for surgery. The goal was to see if thinner muscles were linked to more or worse complications after the operation.
