First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tests whether a new computer model can better predict postpartum hemorrhage (heavy bleeding after childbirth) than standard risk checklists. The model uses 21 factors that update automatically during labor and alerts doctors if risk is high. Researchers will compare outcomes in 10,000 women giving birth at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
