Simple bedside tests may predict dangerous blood pressure drops during C-Sections

NCT ID NCT07539896

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether two simple, non-invasive tests—an ultrasound of the neck vein and a pulse oximeter reading—can predict which women will experience a dangerous drop in blood pressure after receiving spinal anesthesia for a planned C-section. The study will enroll 110 pregnant women aged 18-45 with a single baby. The goal is to help doctors identify high-risk patients early and take steps to prevent complications.
