Smart sensors spot old injuries in your walk

NCT ID NCT07289828

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looked at 108 healthy sports science students to see if wearable sensors on the legs could detect patterns linked to past knee or ankle injuries. Participants walked and ran on a track while sensors recorded movement, and they filled out questionnaires about their injury history. The goal was to use AI to find walking patterns that might reveal old injuries, but this was only an observation study — no treatment was given.
