AI to the rescue: computer model may predict and prevent Post-Surgery kidney damage

NCT ID NCT07604662

First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether showing anesthesiologists a computer-calculated risk score for acute kidney injury (AKI) helps them take steps to prevent it. About 25,500 adults having non-emergency surgery will take part. Doctors will either see the risk score alone, the score plus an alert, or no score at all. The goal is to see if the alerts lead to better care and fewer kidney injuries.
