Summary
This study aims to understand why some cancer patients with weakened immune systems develop dangerous bacterial infections. Researchers will follow 535 patients with blood cancers who are receiving treatments like chemotherapy that lower their infection-fighting white blood cells. By regularly testing patients and tracking who gets sick, they hope to create a prediction tool that could help doctors identify high-risk patients earlier.
