Scientists hunt for early warning signs of deadly infections in vulnerable cancer patients

Summary

This study aims to understand and predict dangerous bacterial infections in cancer patients with very low white blood cell counts. Researchers will track over 500 patients with blood cancers to identify who is most at risk and develop a prediction tool. The goal is to help doctors spot infection risks earlier to improve care and outcomes.
