This study looked at whether two simple measurements—the caval-aorta index and perfusion index—can predict low blood pressure after spinal anesthesia in patients over 60 having lower extremity surgery. Researchers monitored 200 elderly patients to find threshold values that could warn doctors ahead of time. The goal is to help prevent complications by identifying at-risk patients before blood pressure drops.
