Dental scan may predict implant success before surgery
NCT ID NCT06654518
Summary
This study tested whether a special 3D dental X-ray (CBCT scan) taken before surgery could predict how stable a new dental implant would be right after placement. Researchers scanned the jawbone of 29 patients before their implant surgery and then measured the implant's stability during the procedure. The goal was to see if the scan's measurements of bone density and width could help dentists plan better for successful implants.
