Summary
This study aimed to develop better tools to predict which rectal cancer patients might develop bowel problems after surgery. Researchers tested six different machine learning methods against traditional statistical approaches using data from 3500 patients. They created and validated a prediction tool to help identify patients at risk for these post-surgery complications.
