Computers vs. doctors: which predicts surgery side effects better?

NCT ID NCT07267767

Summary

This study tested whether new computer learning methods could better predict which rectal cancer patients will develop long-term bowel problems after surgery. Researchers compared seven different prediction models using data from 3500 patients across two hospitals. The goal was to create a more accurate tool to help doctors and patients prepare for potential side effects before surgery happens.
