Lung antibiotic levels: the missing link in pneumonia treatment?
NCT ID NCT03927079
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study investigates why some antibiotics fail to reach the lungs in patients with pneumonia, even when blood levels are adequate. Researchers will measure antibiotic concentrations in lung fluid from 101 adults who are not responding to treatment. The goal is to identify factors that predict good lung penetration, helping doctors choose the right dose for better outcomes.
