Simple scan could warn doctors of anesthesia danger before brain surgery
NCT ID NCT07399093
Summary
This study aims to see if a quick, non-invasive ultrasound scan done before surgery can accurately predict which patients will experience a dangerous drop in blood pressure when they are put under general anesthesia for brain surgery. Researchers will scan the main vein in the abdomen of 36 adults to measure its size and how much it changes with breathing. The goal is to give doctors a warning tool to better prepare for and prevent this common complication.
