Simple scan could warn doctors of anesthesia danger before brain surgery

NCT ID NCT07399093

Summary

This study is testing if a quick, non-invasive ultrasound scan done before surgery can accurately predict which patients will experience a dangerous drop in blood pressure when they are put under general anesthesia for brain surgery. It involves 36 adults undergoing elective craniotomy. The goal is to see if measuring the size and movement of a major vein (the IVC) can help doctors prepare and prevent this common complication.
