New study aims to fix sleep tracking for nightshift workers

NCT ID NCT06670287

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study aims to improve how sleep is measured for people who work night shifts. Current sleep trackers often fail to accurately detect daytime sleep, which is common for nightshift workers. Researchers will use an Apple Watch along with other sensors and machine learning to better track sleep. About 100 nightshift workers will participate, and their sleep data will be compared to standard lab measurements.
