Exercise as medicine: new study probes how strength training fights cancer from the inside

NCT ID NCT07286539

First seen Dec 18, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at how a personalized strength training program affects the body and quality of life in people with different cancers (lung, colon, breast, lymphoma, leukemia, and multiple myeloma). 150 adults will either do supervised strength training plus home exercises, or just home exercises, for 12 weeks. Researchers will collect blood samples and measure physical function, mental health, and body composition to find biological markers that explain how exercise helps.
