NCT ID NCT06050811
First seen Feb 12, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested whether a prebiotic (a type of fiber that feeds good gut bacteria) can improve symptoms in people with mild to moderate ulcerative colitis. 38 adults took either the prebiotic or a placebo for four weeks, then switched. Researchers measured symptom changes, gut bacteria, and inflammation markers. The goal was to see if changing the gut microbiome could help control the disease.
