First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether a daily prebiotic fiber bar is safe and tolerable for people with Parkinson's disease and healthy adults. Over 4 weeks, 20 participants ate one fiber bar per day and provided blood and stool samples. Researchers tracked gut symptoms, quality of life, and markers of intestinal inflammation to see if the bar could help with non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's.
