First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This pilot study tested whether a daily prebiotic fiber bar is safe and tolerable for people with Parkinson's disease. Twenty adults (ages 60-75) ate one bar per day for 4 weeks. Researchers checked gut symptoms, stool changes, and inflammation markers in blood and stool. The goal was to see if the bar could improve non-motor symptoms like constipation and bloating.
