Special drink before surgery may boost recovery in colorectal patients

Summary
This study looks at whether a special nutritional drink taken for 7 days before colorectal surgery can change levels of certain amino acids in the blood. The goal is to understand how these supplements might help reduce inflammation and improve recovery. About 126 adults scheduled for elective colorectal surgery will participate, and they will be randomly assigned to receive either the special drink or a standard one.
