First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
About 20-30% of people still have pain after total knee replacement. This study tests freezing the knee nerves at least 24 hours before surgery to see if it lowers pain and helps patients move better. One hundred adults with knee arthritis will be randomly assigned to get the nerve freezing plus surgery or surgery alone, and their progress will be tracked for 6 months.
